His Majesty's Fort at Crown Point on Lake Champlain

Crossroads of a Continent

A blog covering the incredible history of the Lake Champlain Valley

There is arguably no other body of freshwater in America that is more historic than Lake Champlain.  The story of a continent, and two nations in particular in the United States and Canada, was largely written in the Champlain Valley.

Please join me, Tim Dusablon, in exploring the history of this valley, from the First Nations who have called this lake home from time immemorial, to a young nation trying to gain a foothold right here in the Champlain region.  We will explore the battles that shaped the history of the U.S. and Canada, along with the personalities who made their name in and around the lake.
